SERAP urges Buhari to publish names of alleged looters of N6 trillion NDDC funds

Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP), has urged the President  of Nigeria, General Muhammadu Buhari to order the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice Mr Abubakar Malami, SAN to openly publish the names of those involved in the alleged mishandling of over N6 trillion in the running of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) since 2000 and 2019. This was revealed in an open letter from SERAP on September 25, 2021, and signed by its deputy director Kolawole Oluwadare, adding that it will take legal action if these issues are not taken seriously by the Federal Government within 14 days.

They further stated that it is in the public interest to promptly publish the names of those involved in the audit report and to ensure that they face sanctions as appropriate. jamb results

As reported by Nairametrics, parts of the letter read thus,

“Despite the country’s enormous oil wealth, ordinary Nigerians have derived very little benefit from trillions of naira budgeted for socio-economic development in the region primarily because of widespread grand corruption, and the entrenched culture of impunity of perpetrators”.
