Shehu Sani, a one-time Kaduna Central Senator, has reacted to the decision by the management of the University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) to make use of hunters and vigilantes to provide better security for the institution.’Information Guide Nigeria
According to Naija News, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the University of Abuja (UniAbuja) Governing Council, Mohammed Modibbo, made the decision known at the institution to engage hunters and vigilante members to provide 24-hour security patrol of the institution.

The theme of the event was captioned: “Navigating Myriad of Challenges in Managing universities in today’s world,” which Modibbo revealed that the University of Abuja management was leaving no stone unturned in securing the staff, students, and property of the institution following the recent attack by gunmen in which some staff were kidnapped from their residential quarters before they were rescued.
The retreat was organised by the Governing Council for Principal Officers, Deans, Directors, and university-based unions in Abuja. jamb results
In Modibbo’s words: “We have now mounted continuous 24 hours security patrol, not only within the campus and residential areas but within perimeters of the university”.
“We also employed additional hunters and vigilantes to be patrolling in areas that are not fenced.”
Reacting to the recent development, through the micro-blogging Twitter handle, Sani’s words: “University of Abuja is located close to a military formation, but they have chosen to draft the vigilante and hunters to protect and defend the institution. This is a strong message.”
