Supercomputer predicts Man City to win Champions League after last 16 re-draw
A supercomputer has predicted Manchester City will win this season’s Champions League following Monday’s controversial draw. Pep Guardiola’s side will face Portuguese champions Sporting Lisbon in the last 16 of the competition after a re-draw.Information Guide Nigeria
UEFA scrapped the original ties after Manchester United were drawn against Villarreal – who they faced in the group stage – by mistake. Man City were then handed the Villarreal tie but European football’s governing body decided a re-draw was the fairest outcome.

And the champions of England are expected to come up against their German contemporaries Bayern Munich in the final in Saint Petersburg.
The Bundesliga holders will face Red Bull Salzburg in the last 16 after initially being drawn against Atletico Madrid.
Fellow English sides Liverpool and Chelsea, who drew Inter Milan and Lille respectively, are expected to reach the semi-finals. Man Utd, meanwhile, are tipped to beat Spanish champions Atletico but not progress any further.

The supercomputer’s verdict is similar to Michael Owen’s and Rio Ferdinand’s, who both predicted only Bayern could challenge Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool last week.
“The Spanish teams aren’t the force of old,” said Owen. “I’ve said lots of times I can’t have Paris Saint-Germain go and win. For me, it’s Bayern Munich or an English team.”
Ferdinand added: “I don’t see past the three English teams [not including Man Utd] to be fair. I think the three English teams will win it this year.

“The owners have invested so much into the club, you look at the training ground, the stadium and the players they’re bringing in, for them to win the Champions League would be massive.
“Bayern might stake a claim but the English teams just look so powerful, tactically they’re on it, the individuals, they’ve got three of the best managers as well. “When you get to the latter stages where you need people to organise your team well, the experienced teams all know how to win this tournament.”
Man City reached the final of the Champions League last season, losing 1-0 to Premier League rivals Chelsea in Portugal.
Speaking last month, defender Kyle Walker urged his fellow team-mates to win the famous trophy this season and establish the club among Europe’s elite.
“For us as players, Scott Carson was the only player in that dressing room that had reached the final before, that says a lot. “Now we’ve all been there, we’ve ticked that off the list now the next thing is to go and actually win it. “That’s the same for England, we’ve reached the [World Cup] semi and the [Euros] final, now I want to go and lift that trophy at the end if it’s the Champions League or the World Cup.”JAMB Result
