Without further ado, here are the richest artists in Ghana:

10. Edem

Starting from the number 10, we have Edem, also known as Ayigbe Edem. The man has shown interest in music since his early years. In high school, Edem was even a part of a band called Ringmasters.

His real break came in 2009 with the release of his first solo album Volta Regime. He collaborated with some big names in the industry at the time, which, in turn, served as a great trampoline for his own success. Since then, Edem has released a few more albums, won several awards and gained a lot of fans.

It is not known how wealthy Edem is, but we do know that the artist enjoys spending some of his fortune on charity. Over the years, he has donated to various causes, helping the people in need.

9. Efya

Jane Fara Fauzzier Afia Boafowaa Yahaya Awindor, whom most of you know simply as Efya, has landed on the 9th spot on our list. Her career began back in 2008 with her appearance on Stars of The Future. Despite not winning the show, Efya still got herself a record deal, and things went on from there.

These days, the musician can boast being a part of Starboy Entertainment, earning herself quite a few awards and nominations, and having shared the stage with the most remarkable African musicians of our generation. Just like Edem, Efya is also involved in charity work.

8. Tinny

Nii Addo Quaynor, who many know as Tinny got into the biz as early as he could. At eight years old, he was already performing at various functions in his neighbourhood. A few years later, he became a member of a then-popular teenage group Nature and Agony.

These days, Tinny is riding solo, and, judging by his immense success, he does not need anyone else to be popular. The artist has five albums and several awards to his name, and he continues moving forward. Tinny uses his fame both to promote products and to attract attention to serious issues.

7. Shatta Wale

Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., or simply Shatta Wale, is known for his wealth. The artist loves to show off how rich he is on his social media. Even though he has come under fire for this numerous times, Shatta Wale keeps on doing what he is doing and ignores the haters.

That said, he does not forget to give back to the people. The artist frequently donates to various hospitals, schools and causes. One time, his donation helped to save a young girl’s life. So even though Shatta Wale might come off as arrogant, he has a heart of gold.

6. Fuse ODG

Nana Richard Abiona, better known as Fuse ODG, has made a name for himself on the international level. This English-born Ghanaian musician has managed to take the world by storm in just a few years.

Fuse ODG has shared the stage with such big names as Major Lazer, Sean Paul, Ed Sheeran and Ghana’s own Shatta Wale. Despite being quite wealthy, he does not throw it in people’s faces (unlike some other artists on this list). Instead, he is doing his own thing and enjoying the fruits of his labour.

5. Becca

It is prime time to add some more female empowerment to this list, as we have gotten to Rebecca Akosua Acheampomaa Acheampong, or just Becca. This singer has been working on her career since 2007, and she has managed to achieve national recognition, as well as financial success.

Apart from singing, Becca also endorses various profit and non-profit organisations. For instance, she was the ambassador of 2014 FIFA World Cup, mobile network Glo, as well as UNAIDS.

4. R2Bees

Rasheed Mugeez and Faisal Hakeem, more known for being the band called R2Bees, have also found their way into the list of the wealthiest music artists in Ghana. What began as a hobby (the two used to perform at school rap competitions) has grown into the well-known band many Ghanaians know and love.

Since becoming a professional music duo in 2007, the two artists have risen to the top and even ended up on the Forbes list of promising African celebrities. These days, they enjoy their luxurious lifestyle and national fame.

3. Stonebwoy

Coming in at number 3, we have Livingstone Etse Satekla, who is known to many as Stonebwoy. Like many other artists on this list, Stonebwoy ventured into music from early years, and by the time he finished university, he already had a debut album under his belt.

These days, Stonebwoy is a household name, as the artist has gained recognition both inside and outside of Ghana. His latest album was even featured on the Billboard chart. The man has worked hard for his success, and now he is practically swimming in money.

2. Sarkodie

There is probably nobody in Ghana who does not know Michael Owusu Addo, who is the famous hip-hop artist. During the decade of his career, he has managed to become insanely popular all over the continent, which, in turn, has made him one of the richest musicians in Ghana.

Apart from being a musician, Sarkodie is also an entrepreneur and philanthropist. He has his own clothing line, several large endorsement deals, as well as the foundation named after him, which supports children in need.

1. Okyeame Kwame

We have finally gotten to the top, and the richest Ghanaian artist is none other than Kwame Nsiah-Apau, or Okeyame Kwame. This musician has been in the game longer than all the other people on this list, and it shows.

Kwame is a successful entrepreneur, as he owns a record label, a multimedia company, as well as has his part in a shoe-making business. The artist also endorses several big brands, including Coca-Cola, MTN and GT Bank. In addition to all that, Kwame is also a philanthropist, with his own charity foundation.

These ten people are the richest musicians in all of Ghana in 2018. Who knows, maybe by the end of the year, we will see some new faces on this list!
