APC seeks release of detained party chieftains in Kogi

The All Progressives People Congress (APC) has raised concerns over the arrest and detention of some of its key members in the Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State. Mr. Kingsley Fanwo, speaking for the governorship candidate’s campaign, addressed the media in Ilorin on Thursday to voice the party’s apprehensions about the recent actions taken by security forces in parts of Kogi East.

Fanwo highlighted the arrests made in Dekina LGA, emphasizing that they were unwarranted and lacked legitimate grounds. Emphasizing the APC’s commitment to nonviolent and fair elections, he urged law enforcement agencies to act judiciously and responsibly.

In his briefing, Fanwo also shed light on the wider election campaign dynamics and detailed the APC’s preparations for the upcoming November 11 governorship election in Kogi State. The party seeks to ensure that the electoral process is conducted smoothly and without undue interference from security operations.
