Rev Sister Caught With Abducted Children in Rivers State Says She Buys Each For N50k

Gistmania reported that Rivers State Police Command officials have arrested Maureen Weqingwu ( Reverend Sister), a child trafficking suspect.Information Guide Nigeria

This Police also brought in his 20 other suspects who were arrested for various crimes between August and his September. Based on intelligence reports, police arrested Maureen at her home in Aroo, Ikwele Local Government Area, County Rivers, and rescued her 15 children from her home.

Police Commissioner Friday Eboka said the children rescued from the trafficking suspects were between the ages of 7 and 9, adding that the suspects will be charged once the investigation is complete.

Eboka said preliminary research showed the children were selected from different parts of the south-south state and sold out. He said it took more than 24 hours for the children to tell police about their experiences. , added that they had been tortured and possibly hypnotized.

He said: “On September 3, Operation Restore Peace Personnel of the Command, acting on credible information regarding hideout of child traffickers, stormed Omuigwe Abuja Phase II, Aluu, in Ikwerre Local Government Area, where a lady who claimed to be Rev. Sister Maureen Wechinwu, aged 44 years was arrested.

“Miracle John Ohiri (f) was abducted on 19/11/2021 at Ada-George Road, Port Harcourt, opposite Holy Rock Church, along with her mother and two siblings, who have not been seen till date. “The father, John Ohiri, has been contacted for identification of the child, who corroborated her statement that he reported the incident at Rumuokpakani Police Station.
