Nigeria’s 56% agricultural land not in use – Minister

As more than 56% of the available agricultural land remained unutilized, the Federal Government stated on Thursday that there were several chances in the agriculture industry.

During his remarks to attendees of the National Council on Agriculture and Rural Development’s 45th regular meeting, Dr. Mohammad Abubakar, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development made this statement on Thursday in Jos.Information Guide Nigeria

According to the Minister, “Nigeria is endowed with a total of 79million hectares of agricultural land with only 44% being cultivated. The nation also has 267 billion cubic meters of fresh surface water and 58 billion cubic meters of underground water, with 37 billion cubic meters only stored in dams.
