So we are well aware we have got four major network providers in Nigeria namely MTN, 9Mobile Glo and Airtel. So we will be looking at the cheapest tariff plans on these networks.

MTN

MTN is widely used in Nigeria due to its large network coverage.The network has a couple of plans all designed to meet the demand of the MTN customer.

Among the tariff plans on the MTN network,the cheapest is MTN Tru Talk Plus.The MTN Tru talk Plus tariff plan,is a plan that offers the subscriber 11 kobo per second call rate to all networks in Nigeria, with a daily access fee of 5 Naira.

Once the 5 Naira is deducted the subscriber can enjoy the 11 kobo per second call rate.In addition the subscriber enjoys 10 mb free upon a recharge of 100 naira or more and also free midnight calls between 12:30 am -4:30 am when the subscriber has 100 Naira on the line.

Calls made during this period are free only for MTN numbers.To migrate to MTN Tru Talk Plus the activation code is to text TP to 131.Migration twice in 30 days will attract a migration fee of 100 Naira if it Is more than 30 days migration is free.

9Mobile

The new easy life 4.0 limited edition tariff plan on the 9Mobile network offers the 9Mobile subscriber 11 kobo per second call rate to all networks which is about 6.6 naira per minute, with an access fee of 5 naira, which will be deducted daily on the first call of the day.

To migrate to this plan 9Mobile subscribers are to text 1 to 420.To confirm if the migration was successful the code is *244*3#,while to check the account balance is *420*1#.

It is important to remember that migrating to the easy life 4.0 limited edition plan would result in forfeiting of any bonus on the line before. No promotional offer will be given on the tarrif plan.

Airtel

So a lot of people have Airtel lines probably because the blackberry data can be used on smart phones. However whatever the reason for having an Airtiel line,when it comes to cheap call rates, the cheapest tariff plan is Smart Talk on the Airtel network.

On this plan, Airtel subscribers can make calls to both Airtel numbers and other networks at 11k per second.There is a daily access fee of 5 Naira charged on the first call made for the day.

First migration in a month is free but migrating twice in month will attract a charge of 100 Naira.No data bonus or recharge bonus is available on this plan.TO migrate simply text YES to 315.

Glo

So the last but not the least is the indigenous network, Globacom also known as Glo. Glo introduced the Glo Gbam Plus, which is a tarriff plan that offers 11k per second flat rate to all networks but the condition attached is a daily fee of 5 Naira will be charged once on the first call made for the day. To migrate,the code to dial is *100*6*1#,to check the credit balance simply dial #124*1#.

So these are the cheapest tariff plans on the prominent networks in Nigeria. It is quite evident that the cheapest plans on the four networks mentioned above have the same call rates and features being 11 kobo per second to all networks with an access fee of 5 Naira.

The only difference is that some network providers do not give bonuses of any kind when these plans are activated.

However, cheap is relative what is cheap to one person may not be cheap to another person. Thus to get other tariff plans available on the networks discussed you may want to contact the customer care service which is toll free.

Toll free means the call to the customer care service is free and the subscriber will not be charged for the calls if calling with the line of the service provider you are trying to contact.
