Addressing these allegations, Rema took to his social media handle (formerly known as Twitter) to clarify the cultural significance of the elements used in his show.
Rema explained that the artificial horse he rode on stage was a replica of a Benin artifact, connecting it to his cultural heritage. Additionally, the mask he wore was a replica of the famous Queen Idia mask, further emphasizing the cultural and historical significance of his performance elements.
