Rema addresses allegations of using ‘satanic’ symbols at his 02 Arena concert

Famous Nigerian singer, Divine Ikubor, known as Rema, has responded to accusations of using “satanic/Illuminati” symbols during his performance at London’s O2 Arena on November 14, 2023.

These allegations arose following his headline concert, which was a significant achievement as he joined the ranks of Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, and Asake in selling out the 20,000-capacity venue.InformationGuideNigeria

Some fans who attended the show raised concerns on social media about the use of what they perceived as “Illuminati” symbols in his performance. Addressing these allegations, Rema took to his social media handle (formerly known as Twitter) to clarify the cultural significance of the elements used in his show.

Rema explained that the artificial horse he rode on stage was a replica of a Benin artifact, connecting it to his cultural heritage. Additionally, the mask he wore was a replica of the famous Queen Idia mask, further emphasizing the cultural and historical significance of his performance elements.

He also mentioned that the artificial bat featured in his second stage appearance was a homage to the bats commonly seen in the Edo night sky. This explanation by Rema highlights his intention to pay tribute to his cultural roots and the rich history of the Edo people, rather than any affiliation with satanic or Illuminati symbols.

His response aims to clarify the misconceptions and reaffirm the cultural and artistic value of his performance at the O2 Arena.NYSC PORTAL
