Lassa Fever kills 40 Persons In Four Weeks – NCDC
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has revealed that Lassa fever has killed 40 Nigerians in 30 days
NCDC stated that Lassa fever has killed 40 people in eleven states in four weeks, between January 1 to 30, 2022.

The Agency reported that the states with the highest number of cases are: Bauchi, Edo, Kogi, Cross River, Ebonyi, Enugu, Ondo, Oyo, Benue, Taraba, Kaduna, Plateau, Delta and Katsina.
THE NATION reports that in a statement, the NCDC said: “In week 4 (between January 24 to 30, 2022, the number of new confirmed cases decreased from 74 in week 3, 2022 to 42 cases. These were reported from Ondo, Bauchi, Edo, Enugu, and Delta States.
“The predominant age-group affected is 21-30 years (Range: 1 to 80 years, Median Age: 30 years). The male to female ratio for confirmed cases is 1:0.8.
“National Lassa fever multi-partner, multi-sectoral Emergency Coordination Centre (EOC) activated to coordinate response activities at all levels.”
