European Commission staff are banned from using TikTok
The European Commission, the governing body of the European Union, has prohibited its employees from accessing TikTok on their smartphones and company devices.Information Guide Nigeria
The decision was made to “protect data and increase cybersecurity.” This comes amid mounting security worries regarding the Chinese startup ByteDance’s TikTok.

TikTok cannot be downloaded on personal devices owned by staff members that contain official apps. Individuals who do not remove TikTok from their personal devices will be unable to access corporate programs like Skype for Business.NYSC Portal

TikTok told Politico that the decision is “misguided” and that they had contacted the Commission in response to the ban.
The statement continues, “We have contacted the Commission to set the record straight and explain how we protect the data of the 125 million people across the EU who come to TikTok every month.”
