About INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is a Federal Government agency with a statutory function of conducting elections into the offices of the President, National Assembly, Governors, and State Assemblies. INEC is always very busy with much demanding and tasking jobs in political seasons which often calls for an extra workforce. It is against this backdrop that the Election Management Body (EMB) often have the need to employ additional hands to help during the peak of activities for elections.   • At least five more additional members appointed on their own merit

Salary Structure for INEC Ad Hoc Workers

The pay packages for INEC Ad Hoc Officials are as follows in a pyramid form:

  1.             Registration Area Technical Support Officer (RATECH) GL07 – GL08 a category that youth Corp Members fall into earned N30, 500 including all allowances in the 2019 presidential election. (premium times)
  2.             Presiding Officer (PO) GL09 – GL11 earns about N53, 177 – N80, 131

    III.            Supervisory Presiding Officer (SPO) GL12 –GL14 earns about N88, 402 – N175, 133

INEC Ad Hoc staff do not enjoy the benefits the permanent staff enjoy because of the temporary nature of their job with the agency. But they earn reasonable allowances.

Requirements for Recruitment of INEC Ad Hoc Staff

Applicants for INEC jobs must:

  1. Be Nigerian Citizen by birth
  2. Possess state certificate of origin signed by the Local Government Chairman.
  3. Be computer literate
  4. Possess certificate of mental and physical fitness by a Doctor in a government recognized hospital
  5. Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma in Social Sciences, Sciences or Humanities and NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate
  6. National Certificate of Education (NCE) or Ordinary National Diploma (OND) with 2 years post qualification cognate experience
  7. Not be more than 35 years old or 45 years old for experienced applicants.
