TWO FEMALE PASSENGERS REPORTEDLY DIE IN A BOAT MISHAP

Two female passengers have reportedly died in a boat mishap in Ikorodu, Lagos State.Jamb Result

According to OSG, the General Manager of LASWA, Oluwadamilola Emmanuel in an announcement said that the boat drowned immediately after it departed the Ipakodo ferry terminal in Ikorodu, Lagos

Oluwadamilola Emmanuel revealed that the 20-passenger ferry, named “R & N 2”, carrying 17 passengers, submerged at about 7.45 a.m., not more than 200 meters from the Ipakodo terminal, Ikorodu.

Mr Emmanuel said that the two female passengers were rushed to the nearest hospital for treatment, but later confirmed dead.Information Guide Nigeria

He added that 15 persons were rescued by the water guards and the search and rescue team of the LASWA.

According to OSG, the boat captain is being investigated by relevant authorities while a full investigation into the cause of the mishap was ongoing as of the time of the statement.
