Buhari Ready To Sign Health Insurance Bill Into Law
President Muhammadu Buhari is set to sign the amended National Health Insurance Scheme (Repeal and Re-enactment) Bill into law, according to the Chairman, the Senate Committee on Health, Senator Ibrahim Oloriegbe. THE PUNCH reports.
Oloriegbe said this yesterday in Abuja during the Universal Health Coverage summit.

“The president is willing to sign it into law now. The House of Representatives will pass it next week. It will then be transmitted to President Buhari for assent in the next few days. The president is committed to getting the NHIS bill passed”. Information Guide Nigeria
Noting that it was the responsibility of all tiers of government to fund the health sector, as stipulated in the National Health Act. jamb results
“We have federal, state, and local governments. If you look at what is happening now, the sub-national levels are not committing as much as necessary to health and the national health act stated the responsibility of each level of government with the federal government having the responsibility for tertiary care,” he noted.
