Ogun student arrested for poisoning girlfriend

A disturbing incident occurred in Ogun State, Nigeria, where a final-year student from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), named Oladokun Ayomide, was arrested for allegedly poisoning his girlfriend, Ugbokwe Mmasichukwu, and another lady, Odumosu Semilore. According to reports, the suspect invited his girlfriend to his residence in the Surulere community in the Camp area of Abeokuta on Friday. Mmasichukwu, in turn, asked her schoolmate, Semilore, to accompany her. Ayomide is accused of serving them a mix containing brownie cakes, alcohol, and an unknown toxic substance. The arrest was conducted by the Chief Security Officer of the Federal College of Education, Osiele Abeokuta, Olusola Ajibola. Ajibola informed the police that both Mmasichukwu and Semilore are students at the college, while Ayomide is studying at FUNAAB.

Omolola Odutola, the Public Relations Officer, confirmed that the victims are currently receiving medical treatment and are responding well. The police are continuing their investigation to uncover more details about this alarming event.
