Political parties in Nigeria in 2023, their logos and leaders

Nigeria has a system with more than one political party. The first political parties in this country were set up in 1959, just before they got their independence from Britain. Parties that have been around for a long time have more seats in the National Assembly than newer ones.

In 1999, a group called the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was set up. It keeps an eye on elections and controls how many political parties there are in Nigeria. The commission sometimes deregisters parties that do not meet the requirements of the Constitution.Information Guide Nigeria
