Virgil van Dijk criticises Liverpool’s efforts in final third following Leicester defeat

“Credit to them. We have to look at ourselves and improve, which we will do. It’s part of football.

Klopp saw his side’s Boxing Day clash with Leeds postponed meaning they had the advantage of extra rest against an injury-hit Foxes side.

The German was less than impressed with his team’s display, claiming he was at a loss as he tried to explain their drop off.

He said: “We played a really bad game, so it was well deserved. It was a very strange game. We were just not good enough.
