World Diabetes Day: Lions Club Set To Screen 13,000 People

The Abuja Metropolitan Lions Club has set out plans to screen and test 13000 Nigerians across the nation.

This is as part of its decision to mark the 2021 World Diabetes Day celebrated every November 14 to create awareness about the symptoms and strategies to prevent and treat the disease.

Lynda Odu-Okpeseyi, the District Governor (District 404A2), said this in Abuja on Saturday, during an awareness walk to sensitize the public on the disease. Information Guide Nigeria

Okpeseyi called on people to screen and know their status for diabetes in order to know how to handle it.

“When they check and find they have diabetes, they can start treating it. But you may not know because there are different kinds of kidney failure and all that, even blindness that prevents a number of people from seeing it”.

“Our target by Monday is to screen 13,000 people nationwide.” jamb results
