The Director for Youths Mobilization Officer, Atiku/Okowa campaign team in Rivers State, Rhino Owhorkire, has been shot by gunmen suspected to be political thugs.
Rhino Owhorkire, the director of youth mobilization for the Atiku/Okowa campaign in Rivers State, was shot by armed individuals who are thought to be political thugs.
On Wednesday night in Aluu, Ikwerre Local Government Area of the State, Owhorkire is said to have been shot as he was returning home.
Following Owhorkire’s claimed kidnapping and forced denial of his support for Atiku, this has allegedly happened just one month later.
Owhorkire was seen in a popular video from earlier in November criticizing the forced support for Atiku.
In the aforementioned video, he was surrounded by others who were watching what he said while also clearly being terrified.

Okon Effion, the state’s chief of police, guaranteed that those responsible for the conduct would be caught and commissioned an inquiry to determine the circumstances surrounding the occurrence.
According to a source who described the most recent incident to our correspondent on Thursday morning, the attackers first fired at Owhorkire’s vehicle’s tires before firing at him through the windscreen.
Owhorkire is reportedly suffering from pain and is presently receiving treatment at an undisclosed medical institution, according to the source, who requested anonymity for fear of being recognized.JAMB Portal
According to him, “He is a native of Aluu. He was driving to his house yesterday night and was shot by some unknown persons.
“They shot the tyres of his car, shot directly at his windscreen and that is how he received those injuries on his mouth. His mouth was scattered.
“As I speak with you, he is in serious pain. His mouth is scattered. But he is receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.”

As Owhorkire muttered some words and attempted to hold his lips together with his hands in the footage that our reporter saw, his lips appeared bloodied and bruised, and his nose and the area above his upper lip appeared swollen.
“I am dying. They shot me now. I am dying, they have shot me,” he said in the about six-minute video.
When contacted, the spokesperson of the state police command, Grace Iringe-Koko, confirmed the incident, saying an investigation has commenced.InformationGuideNigeria
“Yes, it happened. I have spoken with the Divisional Police Officer in that area. We are working to get the details, but I can tell you that investigation has commenced.
“We will get to the root of the matter and fish out those behind the attack and ensure they face justice,” Iringe-Koko said.
