How France Is Supporting Insecurity In Borno – Ex-CJTF Coordinator

Abba Kalli, a one-time Coordinator of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) in Borno State has blamed France for the insecurity in Borno State and its vicinity.Information Guide Nigeria

According to Kalli, the European nation is responsible for the insecurity in Borno because of the oil and gas in the Lake Chad region and the large deposit of Uranium in the northeast state.

The ex-CJTF helmsman was speaking recently at a programme organized by Building Resilience Against Violent Extremism, Insurgency and Terrorism (BRAVEIT). POLITICS NIGERIA reports.

“I can tell you that Nigeria has won this war with the support of the armed forces.

“In the history of insurgency war, Nigeria is the only country where IDP camps are closed and people successfully returned to their ancestral homes.’

Since 2009, Boko Haram has killed tens of thousands of people and displaced millions in northeast Nigeria, creating one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises.

In 2022 alone, about 5.5 million people have been displaced across Borno, Adamawa and Yobe, the three states most affected by the crisis, according to the United Nations (UN’s) Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

In 2021, the Borno government unexpectedly announced the closure of IDP camps, especially in Maiduguri, and began sending people back to their home towns as part of a stabilisation programme. So far, this has affected more than 200,000 IDPs.JAMB Result
