#NigeriaDecides2023: Peter Obi Wins Edo, Cross River In Presidential Polls

Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has been declared the winner of the Presidential Election in Edo and Cross River States. THE WILL reports.Information Guide Nigeria

In Edo State, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) collation officer, Prof. Nyaudoh Ndaeyo, who announced the results, said Obi polled a total of 331,163 votes across the 18 local government areas of the state to edge the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who scored 144,471.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Atiku Abubakar, had 89,585, while Rabiu Kwakwanso of the NNPP scored 2,743.

Ndaeyo revealed that LP won the presidential election in 12 local government areas including Igueben, Esan Central, Esan North-East, Egor, Esan South-East, Esan West, Uhunmwonde, Orhionmwon, Ovia South-West, Oredo, Ikpoba-Okha and Ovia North-East.

The APC won in six LGAs of Owan West, Owan East, Akoko-Edo, Etsako Central, Etsako West and Etsako East.

Of the 2,501,081 registered voters, 603 894 were accredited on election day.

According to INEC, the total valid votes were 581,266, while 19,129 votes were rejected out of a total 600,395 votes cast

Similarly, the LP’s Peter Obi defeated candidates of the APC, Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar of the PDP in Saturday’s Presidential Election in Cross River State.JAMB Result

The State Collation Officer, Prof Akpofure Rim-Rukeh announced the results in Calabar on Tuesday.

He said Obi secured 179,917 votes to defeat his closest rival, Tinubu who scored 130,520. Atiku had 95,425 votes.
