Governor Akeredolu proceeded on his annual leave and handed the reins of powers to his Deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Akeredolu was scheduled to resume on April 26 but his Chief Press Secretary, Richard Olatunde, said the shift in the resumption date was due to the two-day public holidays observed in celebration of the Eid-el-fitri.

Olatunde said the two-day public holidays were added to the Governor’s annual leave calendar, thus extending the leave by two days.NYSC Portal
According to him: “In the meantime, the Deputy Governor, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa will continue to perform the duties of the office of the Governor in acting capacity.
