The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) clinched all available seats in the recent local government council elections in Taraba State, held on Saturday.JAMB Portal
The state’s ruling party secured a decisive win, as confirmed by the Taraba State Independent Electoral Commission (TSIEC). The PDP’s victory extended to all 16 local government chairmanship seats and the 168 ward councilorship positions up for grabs in the election.
Dr. Philip Duwe, the chairman of the Commission, announced these results on Sunday in Jalingo, the state capital.
He noted that of the 19 registered political parties, only six participated in the electoral process. Despite the limited number of participating parties, Duwe described the election as “keenly contested.” This outcome underscores the PDP’s strong foothold in the state’s local governance and reflects the political landscape of Taraba State.NYSC PORTAL
