Nigerian Port Authority Addresses Senate Committee on Unremitted Funds

The Nigerian Port Authority (NPA) addressed the Senate Committee on Public Accounts, responding to concerns over alleged unremittances of $852 million and N1.8 billion by private operators.JAMB Portal

Responding to a directive from the Senate Committee, which called for the NPA’s Managing Director, Mohammed Bello-Koko, and other management staff to appear within 48 hours, the NPA presented its case. Bello-Koko explained that the mentioned sums were the total of unremitted funds accumulated from private port operators who were part of a concession agreement initiated in 2006.JAMB Result

He further clarified that the root of this issue lies in the faulty concession agreements signed with these private operators by the Federal Government in 2006.
