Sources reported that the kidnappers forcefully entered the students’ residence, abducting them amidst gunshots. This alarming event spurred the students of FULafia to organize a protest on Thursday, voicing their deep concerns and fears over the increasing insecurity in their university environment.

During the protest, students held up placards with messages like ‘Student Lives Matter’ and ‘A cry for one is a cry for all’. They demanded the immediate and unconditional release of their abducted peers, whose current whereabouts remain unknown.JAMB Result

The protesters strongly called for decisive action to curb the persistent security challenges facing the university, emphasizing their frustration and fear due to the constant threat to their safety.

One of the protesting students, identified as Josephine, spoke to DAILY POST, expressing disappointment in the state government’s response to their plight. She pointed out that the government officials seem indifferent, possibly because the students are not personally related to them.

“This thing is getting worse, everyday. Who knows if they will start entering the school hostels to kidnap students?JAMB Portal

“The so-called Governor knows about it but he kept mute and did nothing, because we’re not his children or family members.

“We remember our Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shehu Abdul Rahman, inviting the governor to the school and nothing has changed yet. We need our kidnapped students back,” she said.NYSC Portal

Another student, Osanga Jacob, accused the Nigerian Police of being a party to the crime for interrupting their peaceful protest.

“If the men of the Nigeria Police can come and start brutalizing us during a peaceful protest, it shows they are greatly involved in these kidnapping cases.”
