AFCON: Tanzania sacks head coach seven days into tournament

Tanzania coach Adel Amrouche has been dismissed by the Tanzania Football Federation following an eight-match ban and a $10,000 fine imposed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). Amrouche received the ban due to comments he made after Tanzania’s 3-0 defeat to Morocco in their initial match.NYSC Portal

In an official statement released on Friday, the Tanzania Football Federation announced that Hemed Morocco would serve as the interim coach in place of Amrouche. The decision to terminate Amrouche’s contract comes as a consequence of the CAF-imposed ban and fine.

“In another step, the Executive Committee of the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has suspended Coach Adel Amrouche.
