Accord Party chieftain, Peller joins PDP in Oyo

The Oyo North senatorial candidate of Accord Party during the 2023 general elections, Shina Abiola Peller has joined the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Oyo state, DAILY POST reveals.NYSC Portal

Peller joined the PDP on Thursday.

The event was held at Iseyin, the hometown of the former member of the House of Representatives.

Our correspondent reports that Peller represented Iseyin/ Itesiwaju/ Iwajowa/Kajola federal constituency between 2019 and 2023.JAMB Result

The reception of Peller from Accord to PDP was witnessed by the state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, represented by his Deputy, Abdulraheem Bayo Lawal.

Makinde, while speaking, expressed confidence that the PDP remained strong and united in Oyo State and would win the forthcoming local government elections as a result of his government’s people-oriented programmes.JAMB Portal

He charged PDP members, especially in Oke-Ogun and Ogbomoso to support and welcome the defectors with a large heart, so that the party could continue to wax stronger, as according to him, there is enough room for everyone to operate.

“This is why Shina Peller is joining the party that gives power to the people.

I want to assure Peller that he and other followers won’t regret joining the PDP and a lot of benefits will come to them, undoubtedly,” he said.
