Aiyedatiwa presents N384.5bn budget for 2024

Acting Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, presented a budget proposal of N384.533 billion for the year 2024 to the State House of Assembly on Thursday evening. The presentation of the “Budget of Economic Resilience” was made during a plenary session, presided over by Speaker Olamide Oladiji.JAMB Portal

The proposed budget consists of N212.014 billion allocated for capital expenditure and N172.518 billion for recurrent expenditure. A significant portion of the budget, N95.482 billion, is earmarked for infrastructure development.InformationGuideNigeria

Aiyedatiwa noted that this budget proposal for 2024 exceeds the total projected budget for the 2023 fiscal year, which initially stood at N275.979 billion. However, due to the economic challenges faced by the country, including the impact of the removal of fuel subsidy, the 2023 budget was revised upward to N313.144 billion.

Expressing his wishes for the quick recovery of Governor Akeredolu, Aiyedatiwa commended the Speaker and the Assembly members for their consistent support of the administration. He also thanked the people of Ondo State for their unwavering belief, confidence, and cooperation.

In achieving the goals of the 2024 budget, Aiyedatiwa emphasized that the administration would pursue policies that ensure and enhance excellent service delivery, underlining the government’s commitment to the state’s sustainable development and economic resilience.
