EPL: 31 players facing suspension ahead of Christmas fixtures [Full List]

As the Premier League heads into the final round of games before Christmas, scheduled between Thursday and Sunday, over 30 players are on the brink of suspension for the Boxing Day fixtures. These players have accumulated four yellow cards so far this season and are just one booking away from a one-match ban.

According to the Premier League’s disciplinary rules, players who receive five yellow cards before the completion of the 20th round of fixtures are subject to a one-match suspension. This rule puts several players in a precarious position in the upcoming games, as another caution would mean missing the crucial Boxing Day matches.

Additionally, the disciplinary system in the Premier League stipulates that players who accumulate 10 yellow cards before Matchday 33 will face a two-game suspension. This rule aims to encourage fair play and dissuade players from persistent fouling.InformationGuideNigeria

The potential suspensions could have significant implications for teams and their strategies, especially during the busy festive period, where squad depth and player availability are crucial. Coaches and players will be mindful of this as they approach the upcoming fixtures, balancing the need for competitive play with the risk of suspension.
