The Moroccan midfielder has been on United’s radar for the duration of the transfer window, but following the arrivals of Mason Mount, Andre Onana, and Rasmus Hojlund earlier this summer, the club has prioritised offloading a number of fringe players to raise funds before pursuing Amrabat.

Amrabat has been waiting for United to make a move, having already agreed in principle on personal terms, though the deal has been put on hold due to United’s troubles in selling playersJAMB Result

United sold Fred to Fenerbahce, but they were also hoping to offload one of Scott McTominay or Donny van de Beek before returning to the market. Despite interest from rival teams, the pair remain on Old Trafford’s books.

West Ham had a £30 million bid for McTominay rejected a few weeks ago and have not followed up on their interest, whereas Real Sociedad have recently been discussing a potential transfer for Van de Beek. United seek a permanent transfer for Van de Beek, but La Real are unwilling to commit, preferring a loan move on their terms due to Van de Beek’s recent injury difficulties.NYSC Portal

Although a trade is not imminent, Lorient have expressed an interest in the former Ajax midfielder to United.

United have been forced to change their intentions for Amrabat due to financial constraints, and have approached the Serie A club about a possible loan with an option to buy. Fiorentina are prepared for Amrabat to leave before the transfer window shuts, but have rejected United’s loan approach, hoping instead that United will return to their original plan of signing the player on a permanent basis.informationguidenigeria

Amrabat has been holding out for a move to Old Trafford for several weeks and remains hopeful that the deal will be completed, however the ball is now in United’s court as to how they proceed. Amrabat is Erik ten Hag’s top target, although the club has other options, including Bayern Munich’s Ryan Gravenberch.

United are also in discussions with Chelsea about loaning out left defender Marc Cucurella.
