ICPC apprehends woman for alleged connivance with bankers to divert new Naira notes

The ICPC has detained a lady merely named as Simisola for allegedly peddling the redesigned Naira notes on social media.Information Guide Nigeria

Mrs Azuka Ogugua, the ICPC spokesman, stated in a statement on Wednesday that the suspect, who goes by the Twitter name @Simisola of Lala, is working with various components in the financial system to divert the new notes.

According to the spokeswoman, the suspect was apprehended as a consequence of intelligence acquired by commission operatives.NYSC portal

She claimed that the suspect was brazenly marketing new naira notes to Nigerians by taking advantage of their scarcity.

“It is believed she is in collusion with key elements in the financial services sector diverting the newly released notes away from banking halls and payment channels into a ‘black market,’” she said.

The entire nation is currently battling with scarcity of the redesigned Naira notes despite assurances from the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.JAMB Result
