Ogun Governor shares school bags to brilliant pupils

Dapo Abiodun, the Ogun State Governor has stressed his commitment to improving the educational pursuits of the young ones. THE NATION reports.Information Guide Nigeria
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prioritising education, restoring standards and improving the quality of life of children.

The governor spoke at the presentation of school bags to pupils of selected schools in Ogun Central, West and East.

Represented by the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, Abiodun said the current administration had done a lot to transform the education sector through the yellow roof school revolution, distribution of furniture, rewarding academic excellence, employment of Ogun Teach interns, to complement the teaching personnel and the distribution of school bags, among others.

“I assure our learners that this is a continuous gesture. As a government, we will continue to prioritise education and your well-being. These bags I hope will help you towards protecting your books and other materials and also give succour to our parents,” he noted.NYSC Portal

The commissioner said the beneficiaries were picked based on their performance in their schools, adding that the bags would help to protect their books and other learning materials from getting destroyed, as well as give succour to their parents.

The Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mrs. Olaseni Ogunleye, and the Secretary, the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Mr. Olalekan Kuye, said the governor is a lover of education, who has continued to encourage learners at all levels in their academic pursuits.JAMB Result
