R Kelly begs ‘I’m not supposed to die like this’ as health takes turn in prison

R&B singer R Kelly has been making headlines lately as his health has reportedly taken a turn for the worse while he remains behind bars.Information Guide Nigeria

According to sources close to the artist, Kelly has been heard pleading, “I am not supposed to die this way.” Fans and critics alike are anxiously awaiting updates on the situation and hoping for the best for the embattled musician.

In a heart-wrenching audio clip obtained by RapHouseTV, the fallen rap star, aged 56, made a passionate appeal and alleged that the correctional facility treated him with less dignity than a mere beast.

The notorious Kelly, who has been convicted of sex trafficking and racketeering, is currently serving a 30-year sentence. However, his time behind bars has not been without its challenges. Recently, the troubled star was diagnosed with blood clots in his legs, which necessitated surgery on his Achilles tendon.JAMB Result

In the new audio, Kelly claimed he is “scared for his life”, stating: “I don’t deserve to die because somebody miscommunicated or somebody took a guess at what’s going on with my leg. I’m not supposed to die this way. You’re not even supposed to take a chance on that.”

He went on: “Because if it was your child, if it was your father, if it was your mother, somebody you loved, you would’ve said, ‘Go to the doctor. We need to get that checked out. We need to look at that. We need to X-ray that’.

“They didn’t even X-ray. And that’s why I’m speaking out on this, because I’m scared for my life in that area. And who wouldn’t be. They treat animals better than that.”

His lawyer Jennifer Bonjean has also made complaints about Kelly’s healthcare at the Chicago Metropolitan Correctional Centre.

She told ABC7: “It’s not just because it’s R Kelly. Every prison deserves medical attention, medical care. The MCC is required to address these things in a competent fashion.”

It’s not the first health issue Kelly has faced while behind bars, as in August 2020 he was attacked in his sleep by a fellow inmate.

The attacker was apparently angry that the prison had suspended visits on more than one occasion due to Kelly’s fans turning up to protest his imprisonment outside.

His lawyer Steven Greenberg said the rapper had been placed in solitary confinement afterwards as “that’s the only place they can protect him”.

Greenberg added to the New York Post: “My understanding is, every time there is a pro-R Kelly protest outside of the jail, they lock down the entire facility.

“When they do this, inmates don’t get their commissary, they don’t get their shower, stuff like that and since they’re fairly sporadic anyway, they get upset.

“So they’re penalising everyone in the facility because people are protesting in support of Kelly.”

Kelly was first sentenced in 2022, with further charges being brought against him earlier this year. One anonymous woman said improper contact with the rapper began when she was just 13.NYSC Portal
