The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) is an examination board established in 1952 to ascertain definitely the examinations demanded in the interest in the English-speaking West African countries.

 

It is an entrance examination conducted in West African countries such as Nigeria Sierra Leone, Gabon, Gambia and Ghana .The enactment of the ordinances of WAEC was based on the Jeffery report, which strongly supported the proposal for the setting up of a regional examining board to harmonize and standardize pre university assessment procedures in the 5 countries. If you have gotten the required documents listed above, march on to the fifth and seventh floor of the WAEC head office respectively to process your documents.

However, it is best to go very early in the morning because the WAEC head office is a Government office similar to a ministry.

  1. The sum of N4,000 will be needed for an affidavit for verification of the result that is to be given.
  2. Then N10,000 will be paid as the application fee.
  3. Also, N10,000 will also be needed as Courier /Dispatch fees (using FedEx or DHL).

The scratch card for the online WAEC service is marked’ WAECDIRECT ACCESS CARD’ on the face. The card contains a serial number and a pin that you can use to verify your result online
