Contrary to his prior stance, Governor Nyesom Wike has given the go-ahead for Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium to host the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential rally on February 11 in Port Harcourt

Wike, at a rally for Ogu/Bolo Council, yesterday, said: “This morning after appeals from people, who talked to me, I have given them back Adokiye Amiesimaka. Go and campaign. Let it not be that because they didn’t campaign, that is why they didn’t win in Rivers State.”

The governor clarified that Siminialayi Fubara is still the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) legitimate candidate in a statement released by his Special Assistant, Kelvin Ebiri, noting that the Supreme Court yesterday rejected an appeal filed by Farah Dagogo, a former PDP candidate for governor.

The governor also disputed the assertion made on Monday by Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, the national chairman of the PDP, that they were reaching out to the G-5 governors and that one of them had visited him at home.
Wike insisted that neither he nor any of G5 governors visited Ayu’s residence.
“Nobody can blackmail us. We’ll never go and meet anybody. We are who we are. This is not the first time we have battled. This battle we will win at the end of the day.”
Campaigning for Sir Siminialayi Fubara, Wike said the consolidation team would continue with his development strides and consolidate on the gains made by him.JAMB Result
