World Cancer Day: NISA Preimier Hospital offer free cancer screening for Nigerians

To tackle the cancer scourge among Nigerians, Nisa Premier Hospital, on Saturday conducted a free breast examination and prostate cancer screening among rural and urban dwellers in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.Information Guide Nigeria

THE GUARDIAN reports that stakeholders urged the federal government to devise means towards reducing cancer in Nigeria.

Speaking at a cancer awareness over the weekend in Abuja, , Dr Lamech Nabasu, a Consultant Urologist with Nisa Premier Hospital stressed the need for more cancer awareness among rural dwellers to reverse the ugly trend.NYSC portal

He said: “We are here to be able to create awareness to speak to people about cancer, and also to go out for especially women worldwide. Women suffering from cancer, breast cancer, and all other types of cancer are highly affected when it comes to cancer.

“We are to be able to bring out people, advise people to talk to people to come out and be able to get themselves tested.

“They should not just sit at home if they see a sign in their breasts or sign of bleeding, they should come out and get tested. This is why we are here.”

Also Speaking, the National President of Soroptimist International Nigeria Association, Gloria Bai said, “You should always examine yourself when you notice any sign of breast cancer, you should see a doctor immediately.”JAMB Result
