Zamfara return: We won’t tolerate electoral malpractices – NSCDC

Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has assured a holistic support for the February 3 rerun for State House of Assembly, which is to be held in five registered areas of 9 polling units in the state, as per DAILYPOST.informationguidenigeria

The State’s NSCDC boss, Sani Muspha declared this while commending the Independent National Electoral Electoral Commission, INEC, for successful elections in the past, saying that the Corps was absolutely ready to join sister agencies to make the rerun a perfect success.JAMB Result

This was contained in a statement by the Spokesperson of the Command, CDPRO Ikor Oche.

He said the State NSCDC boss had warned that no form of violence would be tolerated as the Corps would be poised to provide adequate security coverage during and after the rerun election in Shinkafi Local Government Area of the state.NYSC Portal

The statement as posted by DAILYPOST noted that the Commandant had assured adequate electoral umpire of a smooth and hitch free rerun as expected, stressing that the Command has already mapped out formidable strategies aimed at achieving successful conduct of the election.JAMB Portal

Meanwhile, Prof S.B Ahmad, the State’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, has eulogized the doggedness of the Corps in previous elections and the maintenance of security in the State.

He explained that the NSCDC is a stakeholder in the electoral business in the nation and “as such, the Commission deemed it fit to consult with the Corps and other security agencies in order to chart a way forward for the success of the rerun election slated on the 3rd February, 2024”.
