A blog is an abbreviation of a term “weblog” as in web log online journal where user (author ) publishes discrete entries in the form of articles or post in a timely manner.
A very good example is Linda Ikeji’s blog. She publishes entertainment articles on timely basis. One most important feature of a blog is that every time you publish a new post, the old post shift down giving the newest post to take the newest position. Typically, in blogs, post are displayed in reverse systematic or chronological order (i.e., the most recent post appears first).
Recently, blogs are gaining due popularity based on their functionality and they now become a very powerful social medial tools to generate leads, reach out to more potential clients, build list and make enhance more business growth.
What is a Website?
A website is a set of highly related web pages served from a single web domain.
A typical example of a website is Dangote website. All the pages in this website are static and are linked to the same domain name – dangote.com.
All the web pages collectively called a website. Businesses that sale products or provide services showcase their information in simple html format in these web pages which eventually makes up the whole website for that business.
Relationship Between a Blog and a Website
The distinction between a blog and a website is wading out as both of them are used interchangeably. Websites are currently optimized to have a blog functionality while blogs are now made to have the features of a website.

How to Start a Blog
Starting a blog is very easy nowadays. You don’t need any knowledge of web design to own a blog. You can even start a blog now if you want.
There are many ways you can start a blog too. You can start a blog for free with Blogger just like Linda Ikeji or with WordPress.
You can also get a custom domain and web hosting and have a blog of your own which you can have full control over it. I will discus this in detail in another article.
How to Own Website
You will need to buy a hosting, design the web pages (or pay a web designer to do it for you) and host it. I will publish a post details about this.
