Benjamin William White who was born in Poole, Dorset, started his youth career at Southampton before being released at the age of 16, after eight years at the club. Loan to Leeds United

On the 1st of July 2019, White signed for Championship club Leeds United on loan until the end of the season. On the same day, White signed a new one-year contract extension at Brighton. The young defender was given the number 5 shirt ahead of the 2019–20 season, and made his debut on the 4th of August in Leeds’ opening day 3–1 victory against Bristol City.
