According to an ESPN report, it was reported that on the 16th of August 2020, Porro joined Sporting CP on a two-year loan deal until 30 June 2022 with the option of making the move permanent for €8.5 million (£7 million). And on the 1st of October 2020, he made his debut for the club in a 1–0 home win against Aberdeen in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League. However, after he arrived in Lisbon at the Estádio José Alvalade under some suspicion for young age, Porro immediately established himself as starter in the right side of the defence, making his league debut in a 2–0 away win against Paços de Ferreira.
