Restaurant Operators Step Up Bills In Jos

 Some Jos-based restaurant operators have adjusted the bills of their meals due to the increase in the prices of foodstuffs. THIS DAY reports.

A restaurant owner, simply called Madam Calabar, added that the increase in the prices of foodstuffs at the markets had sent many restauranteurs out of business.

“I had to increase the prices of my food by 50 per cent to break even. I explained to my customers and most of them agreed with me”. jamb results

“A plate of food which I used to sell for N450 now attracts N900 while the ones that go for N700 are now N1,500,” Madam Calabar said.

Another restauranteur, Lizzy Pam, noted that she had reduced the quantity of food per plate and had adjusted the price slightly.

“I thought of what to do and went ahead. I knew if I increased the prices immediately, I might lose my customers, so, I reduced the quantity of food served and increased the price a little,” Pam stated.
