Residents of Akungba community in Akoko South West Local Government of Ondo State have protested claimed plot to remove the monarch of the community, Oba Isaac Adeyeye, Ajimo III, the Alale of Akungba Akoko. THE NATION reports.Information Guide Nigeria
The monarch was recently upgraded to a grade A Oba by Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
The protesters said those behind the plot were “haters of peace and progress.”
They marched on the streets of Akungba to the palace of Alale of Akungba, carrying placards with inscriptions such as: “We say no to illegality in Akungba”, “We love our king”, “No court ordered removal of our king”, “No to breach of peace in Akungba”.

The demonstrators accused government officials of being behind the plot to remove Oba Adeyeye.
Ex-president of Akungba Development Union Chief Dele Olowogorioye, who spoke on behalf of the protesters, cautioned parties involved in the Obaship tussle to maintain the status quo and allow peace to reign.
“Nobody should fan the embers of conflict or stoke the fire of war in our serene and fast-developing community. Akungba, under the leadership of our progressive Oba Alale, has witnessed a lot of peace, socio-economic development, and national prominence in the last five years. No one should throw a spanner in the good work.”
The Olusin of Akungba, Chief Gabriel Olaseni, said it was difficult to comprehend how some clique could think they would throw out their popular king.JAMB Result
“In my view, security agents should nip in the bud this ugly attempt at breach of peace in our law-abiding town.
“We are trusting God for a non-violent resolution of this crisis.”
