Musk tells Twitter staff remote working will end

Elon Musk reportedly informed Twitter employees that remote work will end and that “tough times” lay ahead.Information Guide Nigeria

The owner of the social media company informed employees in an email that they should expect to spend at least 40 hours per week at the office, according to Bloomberg.

It was “impossible to sugar coat the message,” Mr. Musk continued, that Twitter’s ad sales would suffer as a result of the weakening global economy.

In May 2020, the San Francisco-based corporation informed its employees that they might work from home “forever” if they so desired because they thought its remote working policies during Covid lockdowns had been successful.

But Mr. Musk has publicly expressed his distaste for remote employment, writing earlier this year on the website he now owns that “People have been duped into believing that working hard is not necessary by all the Covid stay-at-home propaganda. Arriving rude awakening!”

Working remotely was no longer acceptable, according to Mr. Musk, who also serves as Tesla’s CEO, who notified the company’s workforce in June.

The businessman claimed he would only personally approve exemptions for Twitter employees who want to work remotely, similar to how he did at Tesla.

A week after purchasing the business for $44 billion (£38.7 billion), the world’s richest man already declared that half of Twitter’s workforce would be laid off.JAMB Result
