NNPC, TotalEnergies inaugurate women acquisition centre

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, TotalEnergies Upstream Nigeria Limited, the operator of OML 130, and its partners have launched a centre for women’s development and skill training in Omu-Aran, Kwara State.

The development and skills acquisition center was intended to provide a hospitable atmosphere for women and young people to acquire skills and create jobs in Omu-Aran.Information Guide Nigeria

It is anticipated that the self-sustaining skill acquisition centre will minimize women’s and youth’s unemployment and unrest in the state’s surrounding villages, as well as enable them to create revenue.

The facility comprises of four classrooms for fashion design and tailoring, catering and hotel administration, computer training, and mixed training.JAMB Result

It features a sick bay, an auditorium with more than 400 seats, and a lounge that is powered by solar energy.

Bala Wunti, Chief Upstream Investment Officer, NNPC Upstream Investment Management Services, who was represented by Bunti Lawson, stated that the project aligned with the sustainable development goals.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of TotalEnergies Upstream Nigeria Limited, Mike Sangster, who was represented by the Executive Director of People and Country Service, George Oguachuba, stated that the project was one of eight slated to be inaugurated in November 2022.

He reported that an additional 19 projects were under construction and will be inaugurated upon completion.

NNPC, TotalEnergies Upstream, PRIME (previously Petrobras), Sapetro, and CNOOC are OML 130 partners.
