Army alerts Kaduna communities ahead of shooting practice

The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) in Kaduna has issued a public reassurance to residents in the surrounding areas of Mando, Tsamiya, Kauya, and Afaka about an upcoming shooting exercise.

The Academy’s Public Relations Officer, Major Mohammed Maidawa, released a statement on Monday addressing any concerns the local community might have.NYSC Portal

Major Maidawa explained that the exercise is a scheduled training activity for the Army cadets of the 71 Regular Course at the nation’s premier military university. He emphasized that while the exercise will involve shooting, residents in the vicinity should not be alarmed.JAMB Portal

However, the statement also included a caution to the public, advising them against entering the designated shooting range area. The training exercise is set to take place from January 9 to February 2, 2024. The NDA’s communication is part of its efforts to maintain a good relationship with local communities and ensure public safety during their training programs.JAMB Result

The statement read, “The Nigerian Defence Academy wishes to inform the general public, especially inhabitants of Mando, Tsamiya, Kauyd and Afaka general area, that it will be conducting a Range Management Package for Army Cadets of 71 Regular Course.InformationGuideNigeria

“The exercise is scheduled to be held between 9 January to 2 February 2024 at NDA Open Range Afaka. The NDA assures the general public that all necessary safety measures have been put in place for the successful conduct of the exercise.
