Abortion saga: I might lose – Sarkodie on why he didn’t reply Yvonne Nelson

Sarkodie, Ghana’s award-winning rapper, has revealed why he produced a diss track in response to his estranged girlfriend Yvonne Nelson’s allegations that he forced her to have an abortion for him while they were dating in the early stages of their careers.

According to the DAILY POST, Yvonne Nelson claimed in her controversial memoir, ‘I Am Not Yvonne Nelson,’ that Sarkodie got her pregnant, denied responsibility, and forced her to have the kid.

Sarkodie, on the other hand, refuted her claims in his equally contentious song, ‘Try Me,’ alleging he wasn’t ready to be a parent but telling Yvonne to maintain the pregnancy.Information Guide Nigeria

The rapper was highly chastised for dedicating an entire song to dissing his ex-girlfriend, Yvonne Nelson, with many criticizing his choice of words in the song’s lyrics.

However, in an interview with famous media personality Angela Yee, Sarkodie revealed that he did not go on a media tour to confront Yvonne’s charges because he could lose his cool, instead opting to address them through music to correctly tell his side of the story.JAMB Result

According to the rapper, people frequently bring claims against him in the media because they know he rarely responds.

He said, “The reason I didn’t do any media run or press around it [Yvonne Nelson’s allegations] is because I might lose how I would like to present what I feel about it.

“This is not the first time. I have done records to address certain issues, or maybe a line or two in a record. There is a certain energy I hate to fill into, especially speaking about it because I might lose my cool.NYSC Portal

“With this situation, I’m not going to say I’m super proud of everything. The thing is just in a moment how I felt whether be my truth there should be a way I would have said it.

“That is why I don’t like to speak about it. This is a conversation between two people. We could have a conversation if you want to talk about it because it involves me as well. But because people know Sark doesn’t speak, people think they can say something and know Sark is not going to speak and they are gonna get away.
