Many airlines operate in Nigeria. Some of these airlines are local based while others are international. In this article, I will list the airlines in Nigeria. Here you will also see their websites as well as their operations destinations.

When we talk about airlines in Nigeria, we are referring to commercial airplane companies that are operating within and outside the borders of Nigeria. They occupy the Nigerian air transport system in and out of the country.

1) Arik Air

This airline is among the most popular among all the operating airlines in Nigeria. It began in 2002 and it’s first operation was on the 30th October, 2006.

Their operations are from Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Kotoka International Airport and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport. Arik Air operates up to 23 aircrafts in it’s fleet.

It has up to 6 international destinations. There is also an extension of the company known as Ojemai Investment Nigeria Limited. It offers both local and international services.

2) Air Peace

This is another new airline in Nigeria. Their operations began in 2013 which is about 3 years ago. Now it is a leader in the industry and has what is necessary for an international airline.

Its operations are based at Murtala Muhammed International Airport. The airline has up to 9 aircrafts and they ply 6 destinations across the planet. Their headquarters are based in Ikeja, Lagos.

3) Allied Air

This is another popular international airline in Nigeria. This is a cargo airline that is focused on transporting passengers but on moving cargos from one end of the country to another and they also operate international routes too.

This airline operates up to 3 aircrafts in it’s fleet and the headquarters are located in Lagos, Nigeria. The company was established in 1998 and it became recapitalised like every other airlines that operated before 30th of April , 2007. Some of their destinations are Entebbe, Malabar, Monrovia, Accra, Freetown.

4) Associated Aviation

Their operations began in 1996. They function from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport. This airline has up to 3 aircrafts in their fleet and their parent company is Associated Aviation Limited with headquarters in Lagos, Nigeria. This happens to be another cargo airline.

This company was bought by a new set of investors and these investors launched more routes to extend the destinations that the aircraft is operating on.

5) Daha Air

This happens to be another popular airline operator in Nigeria. This was founded in 2008. This may have come later than other airlines and it is still far ahead of others in terms of the quality service delivery with its operations from Murtala Muhammed International Airport just like other airline operators in Nigeria.

This airline has up to 6 aircrafts in its fleet and it plies up to 4 international routes. They operate 4 destinations in foreign lands. This airline operates both international and local flight activities.

6) KLM Airline

This is an international airline that is owned by the Dutch government and it was founded on the 7th of October in the year 1919.

The aim of this establishment is to serve the people of Netherlands. This airline has never changed its name from it’s inception and it is still operating under it’s name.

The company merged with Air France in 2004 to Air France. The two companies has been together until now. The airline company belongs to the KLM group.

14) Ethiopian Airlines
