Many airlines operate in Nigeria. Some of these airlines are local based while others are international. In this article, I will list the airlines in Nigeria. Here you will also see their websites as well as their operations destinations.

When we talk about airlines in Nigeria, we are referring to commercial airplane companies that are operating within and outside the borders of Nigeria. They occupy the Nigerian air transport system in and out of the country.

This is another new airline in Nigeria. Their operations began in 2013 which is about 3 years ago. Now it is a leader in the industry and has what is necessary for an international airline.

Its operations are based at Murtala Muhammed International Airport. The airline has up to 9 aircrafts and they ply 6 destinations across the planet. Their headquarters are based in Ikeja, Lagos.

3) Allied Air

This is another popular international airline in Nigeria. This is a cargo airline that is focused on transporting passengers but on moving cargos from one end of the country to another and they also operate international routes too.

The company was established in 1998 and it became recapitalised like every other airlines that operated before 30th of April , 2007. This company was bought by a new set of investors and these investors launched more routes to extend the destinations that the aircraft is operating on.

5) Daha Air

This happens to be another popular airline operator in Nigeria. This was founded in 2008. This may have come later than other airlines and it is still far ahead of others in terms of the quality service delivery with its operations from Murtala Muhammed International Airport just like other airline operators in Nigeria.

This airline has up to 6 aircrafts in its fleet and it plies up to 4 international routes. They operate 4 destinations in foreign lands. This airline operates both international and local flight activities.

6) KLM Airline

This is an international airline that is owned by the Dutch government and it was founded on the 7th of October in the year 1919.

The aim of this establishment is to serve the people of Netherlands. This airline has never changed its name from it’s inception and it is still operating under it’s name.

The company merged with Air France in 2004 to Air France. The two companies has been together until now. The airline company belongs to the KLM group.

This airline company operates more than 150 destinations across the globe. Their destinations include Bangkok, Dubai, Kuala, Lumpur, Hong Kong, Lagos, Sydney etc.

The airline has first class, economy class and business class. Their rates are more affordable. They have the best customer service in the world. They have 38 locations in Africa, 98 locations in Africa & Pacific and 28 locations in the Middle East.

11) Egypt Air

This is the major flag carrier airline of Egypt.

13) Virgin Atlantic Airlines


This is a British based airline that is operational in Nigeria with headquarters in Crawley in the UK. It operates major airports in Nigeria.

14) Ethiopian Airlines

This airline came from Ethiopia to Nigeria. Ethiopian Airlines is owned by the Ethiopian government. It was founded on 21 December, 1945 and began it’s operations on the 8th of April, 1945 after which its operations expanded to international flights in 1951.

16) Kenya Airways

The airline came from Kenya to Nigeria. Kenya Airways is owned by the Kenyan government until 1996 when it became privatised after which it became the first African flag carrier to do so successfully.

It is one of the major sub- Saharan operators.

17) Lufthansa German Airlines


This is a largest German airline and when it is combined with its subsidiaries is the largest airline in Europe both in terms of passengers and fleet size. The airline operates in major international airports in Nigeria.

18) Medview Airlines
