Friday’s attack on Suleman’s convoy in Edo State resulted in the deaths of three policemen, two drivers, and two others, according to The PUNCH.

On Monday, Suleiman said in a Facebook post that some internet users claimed the relatives of the dead police officers visited his residence and were subsequently evicted.

Furthermore, he maintained that nothing of such occurred, as he was concerned about the misinformation being spread about him.

As he criticised the rumour mongers, Suleman warned his supporters to anticipate more lies of this nature.

The cleric said, “I was just told that some social media platforms carried that some families of the slain policemen came to my house and were chased away.

“My worry is the confidence with which people lie. Nothing of such happened. Expect more of their lies. It’s their source of livelihood.”

During the attack on Friday, teenagers and members of a vigilante group in the state captured one of the suspects alive and gave him over to Ayodele Suleiman, the Divisional Police Officer in Auchi, who allegedly shot the culprit dead.

Earlier, in response to the 42-second video footage showing the suspect’s body in a vehicle, the priest criticised the police, claiming that it was an attempt to conceal evidence that could lead to those responsible for the crime.

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, has denounced the incident and urged security services to track down the perpetrators. Jamb Result
