The Appeal Court has recently overturned a prior decision by the National Assembly Elections Petition Tribunal, which had declared the House of Representatives election for Eti Osa Federal Constituency in Lagos State as inconclusive. However, this decision was upended by the higher court’s ruling, which affirmed the election as conclusive.
The legal contest drew public attention due to the involvement of popular Nigerian singer Bankole Wellington, widely known as Banky W, who ran on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket and finished second in the February 2023 election.
