Akeem Kareem, who was abducted along the Benin-Ore Expressway, has been freed after spending about three days in captivity.informationguidenigeria

The kidnappers had demanded a ransom of N20 million for his release, and eventually, a ransom of N3 million was paid. The incident occurred while Akeem Kareem and his friends were traveling from Osogbo, Osun State, to Warri, Delta State, after attending a party.

His son, Sefiu, had raised the alarm and sought help on social media, calling on the military and the police to rescue his father.

“They have released him after the payment (of) N3m,” Safiu told PUNCH Metro.

When asked if the police were involved in the rescue mission of his dad, he said he did not have full details yet.
